Always love browsing in Daunt bookshop, Marylebone High Street.
It's been a while since I marvelled at a Werner Herzog film though I did enjoy 'Cave of Forgotten Dreams'. The ones that have really stayed with me are 'Even Dwarfs Started Small', 'Land of Silence and Darkness', 'Aguirre', 'Stroczek' and 'Fitzcarraldo' - all made before he moved to the U.S. But whether he's trying to pull a steamship over a hill in the Amazon or walking from Munich to Paris in mid-winter - in the belief that he will cure a good friend's illness - he is always fascinating. In fact, he is a true original and one of the greats not just of German cinema but of World cinema. Looks like this book is an update of Faber's 'Herzog on Herzog'. Sold!
Filming in Portmagee, Kerry for Canterbury.
Filming in Connemara for Canterbury.
Shooting a campaign for Canterbury with some of the Irish rugby team. No these are not members of the Irish rugby team - nor body doubles - they are my stand-ins!
Just seen this wonderful but harrowing exhibition by Mannix Flynn and Maedhbh McMahon at Dollard House, Wellington Quay, Dublin - just next to the Clarence Hotel. "The work in Forsaken makes visible those people banished and abandoned behind the walls of mother and baby homes, women's refuges and Magdalen Laundries throughout Ireland." www.farcryproductions.ie
Dinner on board Oasis in the bay at Monte Carlo. This is the life!
Isabella and Grace lounging poolside on their summer holidays!
Staying with my friends John and Odette Rocha at their beautiful house on Cap Ferat. Grace considers dipping her toe in the pool.
